I wanted to share my weightloss progress with you all. I rejoined SparkPeople back in March of this year and didn't really do anything with it. On May 25th I got on the scale and was so upset because I had gained another 4lbs... Grr! So, I started following the SparkPeople plan again, as far as sticking with my calorie range and actually working out. That was 24 days ago and here's a summary of my progress since then:
Weight -10.8 lbs
Bust -2
Waist -2
Tummy -2
Hips -1
Upper Thigh -0.5
Thigh -1
Total Inches -8.5
I haven't been running... I don't know, I just began feeling like that was more of a chore than anything else. I guess I fell out of love with it. My results are actually a result of doing workout dvds at home. I currently have a mini obsession with FIRM workouts. They alternate cardio and sculpting (with dumbells) intervals, which I think helps to keep me from getting bored.
Anywho, I wanted to share because I am so happy with my results. I feel like I am doing the right thing and making a lifestyle change, instead of just doing something short term like dieting. I can't believe I'm down almost 11 lbs already. Here is a "before" shot that was taken a couple of days ago. I'll be back with my after pics before you know it :)
I really need to take hair pic, but this is the closest thing that I have for now.
P.S. I put a link to my SparkPage over to the right. If you're ever wondering how I'm doing, I've been updating there frequently.

Tagged... by Naturally, Sophia
This has been sitting in my drafts forever, so I figured I need to finish it.
What's your current obsession?
Losing weight (again). I am back on SparkPeople.com (love that site) and have lost 8lbs in two weeks.
What's your must have fashion need?
I don't have any urgent needs. I do, have a whole new wardrobe bookmarked and on various wishlists so that I can buy it all when I reach my goal weight.
What are you wearing right now?
Indigo skinny jeans and a black, off-the shoulder top.
What's your favorite food?
Pasta... or nice hot, fresh bread.
What do you do for fun?
Read, watch Jeopardy, go to open mic nights or lounges.
What made today special?
Today marked the end of my third week on my new job. Yay! I can't believe how rejuvenated I feel after being away from my old job, which I detested.
What would you like to learn to do?
I always feel really awkward when I dance so I would like to take lessons just to get me moving. But I haven't figured out what kind yet.
What's the last thing you bought?
A blue martini.
What are you listening/watching right now?
Snapped.
What's your favorite weather?
I would have to go with 75-80 degrees and sunny.
What's your one goal in life?
To live abundantly.
What book did you recently read that you really enjoyed or made you think?
Beautiful Boy by David Sheff.
If you can have a house totally paid for, fully furnished anywhere in the world, where would you like it to be?
My first instinct is to same somewhere exotic like Australia, Fiji, or the south of France, but I think I would be happiest somewhere near my family.
What would you like to have in your hands right now?
The winning PowerBall ticket for tonight. I think I would pass out if I found out I won!
If you can swap lives with anyone in the world for one day who would it be and why?
I would trade places with my grandfather, to give him one pain free day.
If you can go anywhere in the world for the next hour where would you go?
Blakely, GA to see my great grandparents. My grandad has been sick recently :(
What language would you like to learn?
French
What do you look for in a friend?
Honesty and dependability. And they're usually really outgoing, maybe because I'm not.
Who do you want to meet in person?
Jill Scott. I think she's beautiful and always seems so zen. I want to learn her secret and she seems to be the down-to-earth type who would hang out with you for hours.
What's your favorite type of music?
I listen to a little of everything, but if I had to pick just one I'd say R&B. Or neo-soul. Or pop. I don't know lol.
What's your dream job?
To own my own non-profit company that teaches a variety of life-management skills.
Do you admire anyone's style?
Kim K.
Describe your personal style?
What would you call jeans, a cute top, and fabulous earrings?
What's your favorite t.v show?
Jeopardy.
What's your favorite ice cream flavor?
Chunky Monkey. I recently discovered Publix brand Red Velvet ice cream, which is also really yummy.
What's your favorite makeup brand?
I don't wear makeup, so I don't have a favorite.
What's your all time favorite perfume?
Cool Water Woman.
What's you fondest childhood memory?
Going to my grandparents old house in Georgia. Berries grew along the road, and there were pear and plum trees. Plus they had an outhouse and a well, which I thought was so cool because we didn't have those at home. Now I just think that was an awful lot of extra work just to get some water and I'm not even going to touch the outhouse lol.
What is a current life goal you are working on right now?
I'm trying to get back on track to achieve financial stability. Layoffs suck!
What is one item in your home you have more of than anything else?
Clothes, then books.

2 Years Down
So... I totally missed my lockaversary, which was yesterday but here are a couple of pictures anyway:
The top two pics show the first day after my locks were installed and my 1 year anniversary. The bottom pics were both taken within the past month.
2 years in and I still think locking is the best thing I've ever done hair-wise. It has been raining like crazy here in Central Florida, but guess what? I never worry about getting caught without an umbrella or the humidity. I never have bad hair days and I get to sleep in since I don't have to worry about my hair. Having hair freedom is just fabulous!

Living for the Weekend
In non-hair-related news: I am absolutely addicted to Polyvore. I've had an account for a while but never actually started using it this past weekend. Since then I've been on like every single day, finding super cute clothes and accessories and creating outfits. I really think I have a problem, it's called being broke lol. Virtual shopping is almost as good as real shopping.
Also, I've really been struggling with sticking to a fitness plan. I always do better when I set goals for myself so I started training for a 10k. I'm in week 3 of the program, but still haven't found an actual race to participate in... but I guess I'll run one all by my lonesome if I have to.
Now on to hair... some days I absolutely love my hair but then I have others where I'm not too happy and crave a change. I think it's because I'm at an in between stage as far as length goes... not long but not short either. I have been giving serious thought recently to either picking my locks out or combining the ones in the front by twos. I'm going to make my sis take some pictures and post them soon.
I have no plans for this weekend... and that sound marvelous!

Orlando Meetup
Hi Blogland,
I was wondering if anyone would be interested in having a meetup next month? I think the Old Skool and R&B Skating night would be cool.
The date would be May 16th at Universal Skate on Goldenrod Rd. The old skool portion runs from 11pm-2am but we could get there earlier. Here's a link to the rink:

Let me know if you're interested.
